Hour of Code All Middle School Science Classes participated in Hour of Code on Thursday along with teachers and students from over 180 countries throughout the week. They explored the world of Coding through the Code.org website by creating, playing, and learning about the possibilities of coding and the bright future that it can bring. There were projects that ranged from NASA's Space Jam to creating a dance party to discovering Mars to coding with Python. Eight grade students also learned about coding first hand from a special guest, Luke Iler. Mr. Iler works in full stack web development at Cox Automotive. He talked to students and answered questions about what he does at his job and about the path that he took to become a software engineer. He talked about other interesting areas of computer science and suggested ways students could explore more about coding.
