Our 5th graders enjoyed a visit this week from Robin Hu, who gave a hands-on textile lesson! Using her spinning wheel, drop spindles, wool carders and wool from her own sheep, she taught students about the British textile industry, how wool was used in Colonial America, and how homespun wool products were used as a patriotic way to rebel against the British Parliament in pre-revolutionary times.
