Swallow Union Update

Week of February 13th, 2023

Message from Mrs. Jarvis, Principal

We had another successful Spirit Week, this week focused on spreading Kindness!  As I spend time in classrooms I have enjoyed being part of morning meetings and listening to the conversations taking place about those we love, friendships, and pets alike.  Valentine’s Day has a special place in our elementary-aged students and these special moments go fast.  Our Student Council led our first Pencil Gram sale. I am pleased to say that they all did a wonderful job selling them during our lunch blocks, organizing them by classroom, and having fun delivering positive messages to classrooms to share sentiments of kindness. Thank you to our families for supporting the Pencil Gram sales!  And a thank you to our Student Council Teacher Representatives Mrs. Wilson and Ms. Moreau!

I am wishing you and your families a well-deserved school vacation week ahead!

Exciting Announcement about this year's Visiting Author!

Thanks to our wonderful PTO, we have an author visit on Thursday, April 6th! Author and illustrator Matt Taveres will be joining us!  He has a new graphic novel coming out in spring but has written and illustrated best-selling picture books and chapter books.

The schedule will look similar to the one from our last visit and more information will be provided once the details are worked out.
