The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District has expanded its Raptor Visitor Management system to Boutwell Early Childhood Center, continuing the District’s work to strengthen visitor safety procedures across all schools.

The system helps staff identify visitors, manage building access, and support a safe learning environment. During school hours, all visitors entering Boutwell must present a valid government-issued ID, which staff will scan during check-in.

Raptor Visitor Management supports school safety by:

  • Verifying visitor identification;

  • Managing visitor check-in and printing visitor badges;

  • Screening against registered sex offender databases; and

  • Alerting designated staff to District-entered safety concerns, including custody restrictions, restraining orders, or prohibited visitors.

If the system identifies a concern, designated school personnel are notified so they can follow established procedures appropriately and confidentially.

Parents, guardians, and frequent visitors are also encouraged to download the optional Raptor Safe App, available for Apple and Android devices. The app lets visitors prepare information in advance and use a time-limited QR code to streamline check-in. Visitors should still bring a government-issued ID.

Thank you to our Boutwell families and visitors for supporting these procedures and helping us maintain a safe, welcoming environment for our youngest learners.
