Former Swallow Union Graduates Visit 4th Grade Students

We were thrilled to welcome back eight of our former Swallow Union graduates for a special visit with our 4th graders as they prepare for the exciting transition to middle school. Accompanied by Mrs. Wendy Salvatore, Principal, and Mr. Michael Day, Assistant Principal.

This informal session gave our current students the opportunity to hear firsthand what to expect in 5th grade and beyond. Topics of conversation included daily schedules, teachers, lockers, dress codes, and even cell phones, providing our 4th graders with valuable insights and answers to their many questions.

It was heartwarming to see our former students return with enthusiasm and confidence, eager to share their positive experiences and offer encouragement. Their visit helped ease nerves and build excitement for the next chapter in our students' educational journey!

Next week, they are off to visit the middle school and see it for themselves!

Scooter City Fun & Field Day Smiles

A huge thank you to Mrs. Heidi Delaney for the incredible time, creativity, and care she poured into organizing Scooter City and our unforgettable Field Days! Her dedication helped create joyful, active experiences that our students will remember for years to come. We’re also deeply grateful to all of the parents and volunteers who gave their time, energy, and spirit to help bring these events to life—your support truly makes it all possible!

Events like these are more than just fun—they are essential to a child’s development. Through play and movement, children build confidence, learn teamwork, practice social skills, and develop bonds with peers and trusted adults. Field Day reminds us that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom—it thrives on the playground, in moments of laughter, and in shared experiences that strengthen our school community.

And based on the smiles (and the sore muscles!), we think the kids—and the parents—slept very well after such an active day of connection and play!

SCOOTER CITY

FIELD DAY

A heartfelt thank you to the Dunstable Police Department for generously donating both their time and funds to provide a delicious pizza lunch during Field Days! Your support added an extra layer of excitement to the day, and we are so grateful for your ongoing partnership and dedication to our school community.

Little Mermaid Jr. - Whole School Sneak Peek

Every year, Mr. Swift and Mrs. O’Neill work their magic to bring an incredible production to life—and this year is no exception! Yesterday, our entire school received a special sneak peek of a few musical numbers, and the talent on stage was nothing short of amazing.

We invite all families to come out and support this wonderful event tonight and Saturday. Our student performers have worked so hard, and our incredible parent volunteers have brought the show to life through stunning sets, creative costumes, and imaginative props.

It’s a true community effort—and a performance you won’t want to miss!

GDEF Teaching Stars

Are you looking for a unique way to recognize a Teacher, Administrator, or Other Staff/Community Member for their hard work and the impact they’ve had on your child? GDEF Teaching Stars are the perfect gift! They are a great way to say "Thank You" while helping enrich the schools by donating to the Groton-Dunstable Education Foundation (GDEF). Certificates are great for showing gratitude in November or as a holiday gift in December! Parent/Guardian Notes Required for any changes in Dismissal

If your child(ren) has a change in dismissal from their normal plan, a written note or email to the teacher is required. Please be sure to send that note the same day noting the change. From there, those notes go to the office, where we verify the change and create a bus slip for the bus drivers. This ensures students are going where their parents have arranged and provides permission to the bus drivers to take them (or drop them off at a different stop). Students are not allowed to change their dismissal plans on their own.
