Local Mental Health Resources (MA)

A mental health crisis is when someone is experiencing symptoms that make them feel out of control or prevent them from being able to take care of themselves. If you or someone you know is in need, please consider the resources below:

In case of emergency, you should:

  1. Call 911.

  2. In Dunstable - bring your child to Community Behavioral Health Center at Vinfen Behavioral Health (40 Church Street, Lowell MA) or call 866-388-2242 or 978-674-6744. To visit their website, click here.

  3. In Groton - bring your child to Community Healthlink Mobile Crisis Intervention - North Central Team (100 Erdman Way, Leominister) or call 1-800-977-5555 or 508-860-1000. To visit their website, click here.

  4. Take your child to the nearest hospital emergency room.

This is a 24/7 walk-in alternative to emergency department visits for mental health and substance use crises. CBHCs in Waltham, Framingham, Lowell, and Leominster cover the Emerson Hospital service area.

The Living Room Advocates:

This is a 24 hour crisis alternative to emergency department visits and hospitalizations, staffed by peer specialists.

Veterans' Crisis Line:

They provide confidential crisis support for Veterans and their loved ones, 24/7.

Care Solace

Care Solace is a platform which helps individuals find community-based mental health care and support by connecting the GDRSD community with a Care Solace Companion who will help individuals find mental health care providers and substance use treatment centers at no cost. Interface Referral Service

INTERFACE is a mental health and wellness referral Helpline available Monday through Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. This is a free, confidential referral service for residents of Groton and Dunstable.

DMH Behavioral Health Help Line

The Department of Mental Health has launched a new help line that people can call or text 24/7 to receive support in over 200 languages. This help line can help individuals and families navigate the behavioral health system and access treatment, including mobile crisis services.
