Family memo

Shout Outs:

We are going to give a big shout out to Ms. Russo for doing the bulk of the organization of our Middle School MCAS.  We have just about completed all the testing.  Some make-ups are left for this week.

The 7th and 8th grade dance was fantastic.  Students had a lot of fun.  We can't wait to do more of this next year.  At the bottom of the memo you will find a flyer for a school wide event at Canobie Lake Park from the Middle School PTO.

  • From the counseling department:

This is the last week of Mental Health Awareness Month so our school counselors wanted to share some helpful resources.  Please reach out to Mrs. Bowness, Ms. Ascione, Ms. Zwicker, Miss Buckley or Mrs. Schultz-Bray if you ever have questions or concerns.

  • Tuesday May 24th and 1:30 myself and Mr. Fleming along with some 5th grade students will be heading over to Florence Roche to meet the 4th grade students.  Thursday the 26th at 10:15 we will be visiting Swallow Union.

5th Grade Families:

  • The Human Growth and Development lessons will be delivered coed to Grade 5 grade students on May 23-26. All lessons will be coed and coed taught.

8th Grade Families:

  • Students in Grade 8 are continuing their Civic duty (Section 4.2.c) to complete their "student-led nonpartisan civics project."They have gathered information about their topic, have learned how others have addressed the issue, and have decided on a course of action. Emails are being drafted, speeches written and practiced, materials collected for sculptures, images searched for infographics, and interviews of experts planned.  The students who are interested in using social media as a tool have been asked to have their adults acknowledge their choice - a letter has been sent home with those students. Ask your students what their topic is and how they are trying to follow the "campsite rule" of civics- to leave the place better than the way you found it.
