Family memo

Happy Sunday Groton Dunstable Regional Middle School Families. I hope you had a lovely vacation week with your students.  This is a picture I took at Hampton Beach this week.  I met up with some girlfriends and we went to the Melissa Etheridge concert.  It was fun and she was great.

As we celebrate Autism Awareness week, Monday is.. Celebrate how incredible it is that all our minds work in different, wonderful ways by wearing a fun hat and/or wild hair!  Remind your students to wear a hat on Monday or try something fun with their hair.  Our daily announcements will explain the daily exercises for the rest of the week.

POW Corner:  Sometimes we all need reminders that our words have Power.  If you haven’t done so lately maybe tell someone how much they mean to you and why.  The why can be tricky or taken for granted so it’s nice to share the why every once in a while.

A+B+C+D=E Corner:  District Wide Multi Tiered Systems of Support.  As a district we try to think of many different ways to support all of our learners.  Our teachers do this every day.  What might work for one student may not work for the next.

  • We have a 7th grade student who is part of 4H. 4H stands for head, hands, heart, and health. Her troop is doing a community service project.   They are going to be donating pet foods and supplies to animal shelters. The student was wondering if we’d be willing to inform the students and staff here at GDMS about this and maybe ask for some donations! If you are interested the collections will start this week.  She is decorating boxes for old blankets and sheets to support Nevins Farm in Methuen Ma. Please see the flier for more information: 4H Flier  We will start our collection after April Vacation.
