New topics for you to be aware of:

  • Parent conference are fast approaching.   We will be holding Parent Conferences on November 18th in the afternoon and evening.  Be in the look out for sign up information from your student's teachers.  We will have conferences again in March.
  • Building Friendships on the Basketball Court:    Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School is excited to announce a 4 session basketball clinic developed to help students of all skill levels build relationships, expand social skills and have some fun playing basketball.  The clinic will run on Tuesday November 2nd, Thursday November 4th, Tuesday November 9th and Tuesday November 16th.  Come have fun, meet some new friends and learn some basketball skills.   • For all 8th grade parents - On November 5, a representative from Nashoba Valley Technical High School will be at our school during the day to speak with all 8th grade students.  For families who are interested in learning more about Nashoba Tech, you are invited to attend their open house.  Registration is required to attend.  For more information about 8th grade transitions, please refer to the GDRMS counseling department website.

  • We have a PTO and Officers, They will be reaching out you in December looking for volunteers for our book fair and they will be scheduling some meet and greet meetings in the coming months.

Program will begin at 2:30pm even on MS early dismissal days

Violin, Session 1: Wednesdays Dates: Nov 10, Nov 17, Dec 1, Dec 8, Dec 15, Dec 22, Jan 5, Jan 12, Jan 19, Jan 26, Feb 2, Feb 9. Class will not be held on Wednesday, November 24th or December 29th Middle School (5th-8th grade) 2:30-3:15pm Tuition: $270.00

 GDCE Chess Club

Founded in 1991 and boasting a National Elementary Champion, Groton-Dunstable Chess Club is a fun way to improve your chess skills.

Location: Middle School South: Cafeteria Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm Dates: Fridays: December 3rd, 10th, 17th, January 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, February 4th, 11th, 18th, March 4th, 11th.

  Club will not be held on Dec 24th, 31st or February 25th. 

 Make-up snow days March 18th, 25th REGISTRATION FEE: $60.00 Grades: K – 8 LIMIT: 60, Fills Up Fast!!!! (NO WALK-INS; NO REFUNDS AFTER November 12th)  If SCHOOL is CANCELLED for any REASON that DAY, CHESS CLUB is also CANCELLED.

  • 2022 Ski Club Registrations open Monday, November 4th! The ski club travels to Wachusett Mountain on Tuesday evenings from January 4th to February 8th. All levels of skiers and snowboarders are welcome. You can even rent equipment or sign up for lessons! Hurry, spots fill up fast! For more information here is the link GDCE Wachusett Ski Club

Reminders;

  • Picture retake has been rescheduled.  It is on the calendar for 11/29.  They are having a hard time with staffing as is the rest of the hospitality field.  

  • 1st Quarter ends on November 5th, grades will be published for parents on November 15th. 

  • GDEF, Groton Dunstable Educational Foundation, would like you to sign up for their  mailing list?  The link is https://form.123formbuilder.com/5995194/form   They  are about to launch their Annual Giving Campaign, and want to ensure we reach as many families as possible.

  • Groton-Dunstable Middle School's Best Buddies will begin this month! Best Buddies is a great after school program that promotes friendship, leadership and inclusion. If your child is interested in a leadership position, please reach out to Ms. Blydenburgh or Ms. Franceschi. The leadership team will help to plan activities and support Chapter Meetings. Chapter meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month until 3:30. Leadership meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month.If your child is interested in joining Best Buddies, please help them to create a login and sign up at the link below on the Best Buddies website before the first meeting on 10/26. www.bestbuddies.org/join

  • HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING!  The Commissioners of Trust Funds would like to remind families with school aged children who are experiencing financial difficulties, the Community Children’s Fund can help with food, gifts, winter clothing, etc.  If you would like to experience the joy of giving during the holiday season, the Community Children’s Fund offers several different gift giving options.  To participate in either of these holiday traditions, either giving or receiving, please contact Karen Tuomi at 978-877-6787 or email trustfunds@grotonma.gov.  Confidentiality is strictly maintained.

  • Hearing and Vision screenings - 5th (vision only) and 7th grade (hearing and vision), initial screenings will take place on November 4th & 5th during the school day.
