Hello Middle School families. I hope you have a great weekend.
MCAS, ELA MCAS is this Monday and Tuesday. Please try to have your child here on time. A reminder about snacks, please try to have the snacks be nutritious. We do not want bags of chips and candy as they make noise and can be a distraction. If you have question about MCAS please feel free to reach out to myself, Mr. Day or Mr. Fleming. Thank you for your cooperation.
This weekend, come watch our GDRMS students perform in Disney’s Descendants!
Based on the popular Disney Channel movies, this musical is jam-packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films! Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
Performances are Friday (4/10) at 7pm and Saturday (4/11) at 2pm & 7pm in the PAC (Stoddart Building). Come support your community! Tickets are cash only and will be sold at the door.
As a friendly reminder when your children are out of school for an extended vacation it becomes a lift for our teachers. It’s important to have your children try to do some work while they are out and they can do this by following along with google classroom. We do however want to encourage regular school attendance. Teaching and projects can not be done with accuracy away from the classroom. Thank you so much for your partnership

In honor of the country’s 250th birthday, Groton is hosting a special ceremony at The Old Burying Ground at noon on Saturday, April 25th to commemorate the lives of the minutemen who died at The Battle at Bunker Hill in 1775. Of special significance, the town is symbolically transferring the remains of 11 of Groton’s minutemen, who were unceremoniously buried in a mass grave in Boston, back to Groton. They will be laid to rest with honor among the other 105 Minutemen who gave their lives for this country at The Battle at Bunker Hill. The town invites all to attend this historic and meaningful event.
Reminders:
Families looking for tutoring:
The Dunstable and Groton Public Libraries keep flyers and contact info for local tutors at the front desk. Staff at the libraries should be able to assist in sharing the contacts that they have, or families can review the flyers that are posted on their own.
The Prescott Center has been running homework help sessions after school with the support of students from the High School. Families can check the schedule of events at Prescott, or can connect with their programming manager for options.
Adam Snodgrass at the High School is the advisor for National Honor Society and can connect families with students who are interested/available for tutoring.
Counseling Corner:
If your child has been accepted to another school and is planning on attending that school for 9th grade, please email Mrs. Lynette Fisher at lfisher@grsd.org and Ms. Patty Ascione at pascione@gdrsd.org.
