Family Memo

Hello Middle School families.  I hope you have a great weekend.

Best Buddies will meet after school on Wednesday, April 8, from 2:35 to 3:30 in the North cafeteria to make some crafts, discuss the Best Buddies Friendship walk, and have some fun! We'll see you there.

On Friday, April 10, some students at GDRMS will support the Day of Silence by being silent during the school day, protesting the silencing of LGBTQ+ community. Started in the mid 90’s by two college students, Day of Silence is a nationally-recognized demonstration where LGBTQ+ students and allies all around the country protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in schools. (Glisten.org) This is optional, and classes will not be impacted in any way.

Reminders:

Parents, when you are picking your children up after school, whether it’s athletics or play practice, please adhere to our traffic signs. When you were coming out of the flagpole circle, there is a sign there that says no left turn. Please follow that. With so many students crossing into the parking lot to meet their parents and parents coming in for various sports it is dangerous if you are not following the traffic patterns on our school campus.  Thank you

GDRHS Scheduling

  • March 30 - Apr 8:  High school counselors will start meeting with students to review course selections, check the number of credits and confirm if a CLCF is required.

  • Summer 2026 Schedules issued to students.

Families looking for tutoring:

  • The Dunstable and Groton Public Libraries keep flyers and contact info for local tutors at the front desk. Staff at the libraries should be able to assist in sharing the contacts that they have, or families can review the flyers that are posted on their own.

  • The Prescott Center has been running homework help sessions after school with the support of students from the High School. Families can check the schedule of events at Prescott, or can connect with their programming manager for options.

  • Adam Snodgrass at the High School is the advisor for National Honor Society and can connect families with students who are interested/available for tutoring.

Counseling Corner:

If your child has been accepted to another school and is planning on attending that school for 9th grade, please email Mrs. Lynette Fisher at lfisher@grsd.org and Ms. Patty Ascione at pascione@gdrsd.org. Informing us now will help ensure that your child’s school records are sent to the correct school. If you do not inform us, school records will automatically be sent to GDRHS. Here is the GDRMS release of information that needs to be completed and returned to Mrs. Fisher.
