Family Memo

Hello Middle School families.  I hope you have a great weekend.

Not a lot of new information this week. It was a quiet week at the middle school. All students are back from getting stuck over vacation and we are in the thick of it.  MCAS will be coming up in early April.

MCAS dates

  • ELA 4/13 & 4/14 (all grades)

  • Science 5/12 & 5/13 (grades 5 & 8)

  • Math 5/19 & 5/20 (all grades)

  • Civic 5/27 (grade 8) back to back if we can (TBD)

As an Administrative team we are starting to talk about the 4th-5th grade transition and the 8th-9th. We will be looking to bring some 5th grade students to the elementary schools.  Be on the lookout for a permission slip for that.  And, we are hoping to get some high school students to the middle school before the high school counselors come to us and talk about course selection.

I also wanted to point out some of the community building events that are happening and have happened over the past few weeks.

  • Our Student Council did Candy Grams prior to break and it was a huge success.

  • We had our grades 7 & 8 dance last Friday night.

  • We have a grades 5&6 dance in  the works for May.

  • We are taking the 8th grade to the Outsiders at the Citizens Opera House in April.

  • We are taking the 5th grade back to Natures Classroom

  • We have our Staff Vs Student Basketball game coming March 26th

We are very proud of our teachers who help support these events and our PTO for their support.
