Family Memo

Hello Middle School families.  I hope you have a good weekend.

Reminders about toys and other non school related items, they are not allowed in school and should not be brought into school. They can become very distracting.

Drop off line. While I understand it is cold out. Please let your students get out of the car when you are alongside the North building. If you can see myself or Mr. Fleming  then it is time for your child to get out of the car.  And, they need to be ready.  Pulling up and then getting your gear takes time.   If we continue with only two cars unloading at a time or waiting until you get to the sidewalk, the line takes much too long and your students are tardy to school. Please adhere to this expectation.   Thank you.

GDRMS 2026 Science Fair will be Saturday March 28th

Counseling Corner:

  • National School Counseling Week is celebrated from February 2-6, 2026. Our school counselors wanted to remind everyone that they are here to help. Here is a Bitmoji calming room that they created for our community to use: GDRMS Bitmoji Virtual Calming Room. Please move your cursor around the room and click on different items. You may also find their website helpful: GDRMS Counseling Department

  • 5 years ago, Ms. Salvatore approached the school counselors to see if they could organize Kindness Week, which includes spirit days and activities during advisory.  This year, Kindness Week will be celebrated at GDRMS from February 9-13. We also wanted to include Spirit Week.

  • If you need support in finding a mental health therapist for your student, please contact your student’s school counselor. They can start a referral, also known as a warm handoff, to Care SolaceHere is more information about what Care Solace can do to help.

Auditions for Descendants the Musical are Monday Feb. 9 (last name A-L) and Tuesday Feb. 10 (last name M-Z) from 2:35 to 4:00pm in Room 95 South (Ms. Stone’s Chorus Room). All students who have registered for cast must prepare a short selection (30 seconds) from a song they are comfortable singing a cappella. There will also be a short reading from the script.  Crew do not need to attend the auditions. First rehearsal is Wednesday Feb. 11 after school for ALL CAST and CREW!

Please contact Ms. Corbelletti or Ms. Stone with any questions.

Writing Normsnorms

This is a friendly reminder that your students are being held accountable for our Middle School Writing Norms. Please know that if your children are not following these basic norms their grades will reflect this in all subject areas.  We are trying to hold students accountable for basic skills.  Your help is appreciated.
