8th graders can join the high school team and the middle school has its own team.

Student Council, Our student council board has been picked and they are already hard at work with ideas to make our school better.  So far they have been doing our pledge and they want to announce birthdays in the morning.  If you think that your child would NOT want their birthday read over the PA system please let me know.  Thanks

Project Mitten

5th & 6th grade will have an assembly on Wednesday morning in the PAC where our Student Council students will read the book,  Project Mitten, written by Jan Brett, to learn about the initiative and what activities are planned for their grade.

So far Grade 6, had their annual Turkey Trot on Tuesday and raised 216.00.  They also have Activities planned for the month of December.   There is an attempt to try  something new this year with a book drive.  We are really looking forward to that.

Grade 7 will be doing their Munchie Market again this year.  This was a huge success the last few years.  This year we even got our own Middle School Popcorn Machine.

Grade 8 will be raffling off baskets designed by the students as a fundraiser for Project Mitten and the 8th grade class.  These baskets will be on display at parent conferences and we are starting to sell tickets on Monday 11/24 so if anyone is interested they can ask any 8th grade student or teacher for tickets and information .We are super excited about this project.

GDEF

Dear Families,

For over 20 years, the Groton-Dunstable Education Foundation (GDEF), a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the educational experience for every student in our public schools, has proudly invested over $720,000 in grants to our schools through hundreds of innovative and engaging programs and opportunities that go beyond the scope of the regular school budget. Last year, GDEF awarded 21 grants totaling over $20,000, supporting creative and impactful projects and experiences across all five schools, including outdoor learning kits and character assemblies, and sponsorships of Robotomies, Tour of the World, and DECA. With our district facing significant financial challenges, donor support matters now more than ever. Make a difference today by donating online at www.gdefinc.org/donate. Our students, our schools, and our community are worth it.

Thank you for your support, the GDEF Board of Directors
