Hello Middle School families. The cooler days make me feel like we are ready for school. We can’t wait until our halls are buzzing with student energy.
This memo is loaded with some important information for you to know going into the first few days of the 25-26 school year.
Things to know:
Buses: Students are not allowed to ride other student’s buses.
Schedules: Teachers will have copies of student schedules to give to your children on the first day.
Morning Drop Off: When dropping off your student(s) in the morning, please come in the main driveway, turn to the left and follow the tree line all the way around the Twomey center. Follow the line of travel to the right around the parking lot behind the North building, letting your student(s) out between the administrators who are standing outside. Then proceed around that parking lot and back around the Twomey Center to the rear of the North building. Students will be allowed to depart cars starting at 7:52 a.m. Please pull up to the administrator if you are the first car. I know you may really want to drop your student(s) at the sidewalk but please don’t. This really holds up our line. This is so important so that all students can get into the building on time. Also, as soon as we start to unload cars, let your child(ren) out of the car.
Tardy= any student who arrives at school past 8:02am is tardy and will need to report to their building's main office for a pass.
Middle School Play:
This coming Fall, the Drama Club, in conjunction with Groton-Dunstable Community Education, will present Seussical Jr. the Musical this fall. Registration is still open for cast and crew through the Peter Twomey Extended Day and Community Education Program. Registration is $150 for cast and $95 for crew. Auditions for the musical will be held September 8 and 9 from 2:30-4:00 and performances will be on November 14 (7pm) and November 15 (2pm, 7pm). 5th grade:
All 5th grade students will meet in the PAC upon arrival on day one. Their teachers will have signs with them with their names on them. Please make sure your student knows who their advisory teacher is. If they forget we will call them by roster and bring them to their Advisory class.
6th grade :
All 6th grade students will meet in the South Gym upon arrival. Their teachers will call them by roster and bring them to their Advisory class.
7th and 8th grade:
Students will come into the North Building and report to their Advisory classes. We will have administrative support in the Lobby to help students figure out their Advisory if they do not know where to go.
Reminders:
Core Values: We are our new Core Values for the Middle School. Teachers and staff worked on these together last year. We will have students help us design posters over the course of the school year.
