Good morning Groton Dunstable Regional Middle School Families.
I hope you are all finding some time to relax and enjoy family and friends. Summer can be so busy and yet so regenerating. July has been pretty good to me. I have had some fun times with family and friends at the beach, the lake, concerts and of course the Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show.
Important topics for you to know:
Core Values, If you are new to the middle school our Core Values are..
Ownership:
Own your space
Own your learning
Own your behavior
Awareness:
Be aware of yourself and others
Be aware of your surroundings
Be aware of your impact
Kindness:
Be kind to yourself
Be kind to each others
Be kind to your surroundings
We strive to use these core values in everything we do at the middle school. Please feel free to use them at home. We believe these are important characteristics for our students to embody.
Mr. Day and Mr. Fleming have been hard at work preparing our 25-26 student schedules. It is our hope to have schedules ready for viewing on Monday August 18th.
Mr. Day and I have set our Annual 5th grade Ice Cream Social for Wednesday August 20th at 2:30 in the Stoddart Cafe. Our incoming 5th grade students and any new students who would like to meet some peers and get a tour are invited to attend. This has historically been a great event and we look forward to seeing you there.
Start time, The Middle School start time is 8:02 with an end time at 2:32. On a ½ day we will dismiss at 11:30. If you are a drop off family. Students will be permitted to get out of the car at 7:52.
School Supplies, The Middle School PTO is working on getting our Toolkit set up for easy 1 stop shopping for school supplies.
Nursing assignments, We are excited to announce that we will once again have a nurse in each building. Nurse Gray, lgray@gdrsd.org, will remain our nurse in the Stoddart building and Nurse Merrill, smerrill@gdrsd.org, will be our nurse in the North building.
Breakfast, Breakfast is still going to be available in both buildings this fall as a Grab and Go. When students enter the building, in the Stoddart they can get breakfast from the cafe and in the North there will be a kiosk set up in the conference room off the lobby. Students will need to grab breakfast head to their lockers and then to Advisory.
