PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
MCAS and scheduling! These are two things that require lots of time, resources and energy but really do pay off in the end.
Sophomores need to bring in their SCHOOL ISSUED Chromebooks FULLY CHARGED on Tuesday and Wednesday for ELA MCAS testing. We will have breakfast for them and provide them with the necessary nvironment to set them up for success. Good Luck!!
Scheduling season is upon us and we met with all students this past week, including the rising 9th graders. Course selections need to be done by March 29th so please take the time to create a BALANCED schedule. These are done on the sheets given to them and in the STUDENT PORTAL through SchoolBrains. Please see the emails sent out today and visit our Scheduling information page.
It is great to see so many students participating in after school activities. Spring Sports, Clubs, the theater and spending time with friends in a safe space. The energy of the building has always been dictated by the students and they have added so much value to our culture by being connected to our school community outside the school day. They Belong!
Speaking of energy, I asked a group of students from the tech crew of our musical production next month to help finish painting a wall in the Black Box Theater. Not only did they finish that wall, but they also went on to complete the entire other side of the theater. We should be proud of our students as they take a vested interest in how our building represents our values. There are many people working hard to provide much needed face-lifts all across our campus. A renovated Black Box Theater and new signage throughout the campus are on the docket for this Spring. Plus- Look for the Spirit Rock to be paying homage to our Winning Robotics Team. Great work in capturing the first ever NH “Winner” Banner!!
Thanks to all involved in making this school and campus a little better.
We are GD!!

Looking ahead, we’ll especially need extra helping hands for concessions and Candy Grams during the upcoming spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors, coming up in April. These events are fun, social, and one of our most important ways to support arts programs and scholarships.

GD ENGLISH 10 MCAS
Students must bring in their School Issued Chromebook fully charged
Website: Test Prep, Scholarship, and Accommodations Info
The Grade 10 English MCAS will be given on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and Wednesday, March 25, 2026. It is an untimed test. It is an untimed test. Students have as long as they need to complete it.
Ms. Kelly Cook, the English Department Chair, met with the sophomores and she shared the GD English 10 MCAS website with them as a resource through their school email.
Your child can use this website to get familiar with the test and to learn about college scholarships related to doing well on the MCAS.
Even though the MCAS is no longer a graduation requirement, a high school's performance on the test does affect the school's ranking on different lists that come out every year comparing cities and towns across the state, so we ask you to encourage your child to do their best.
Kelly Cook, 9-12 English Language Arts and Literacy Coordinator
