Robotomies

Under the tutelage of Mr. Rocheleau, the Robotomies team brought home their first-ever WINNER banner in the 23-year history of the program! Their demonstration of our core value of "Perseverance" ruled the day.

Competing at the Granite State District Event in Bedford, NH, our students dealt with several mechanical failures and some tough match damage, but they never gave up and never lost the smiles on their faces.  They worked through every setback as if it were the most fun they've ever had, representing our school in the best possible way!

Due in large part to their upbeat determination, solid robot and impressive driving skills, our team was chosen to join the #1 alliance in the playoff rounds ahead of 5 other teams who were actually ranked higher than Team 1277.  They played a key role by running a very effective defensive strategy that slowed our opponents while allowing our alliance partners to keep scoring. Together, the alliance advanced through the elimination rounds undefeated and ultimately secured the event championship.

The students represented GD with incredible resilience, sportsmanship, and positivity, even when things didn’t go their way. Their dedication and teamwork truly made our school proud.

The value of what is learned and experienced outside the classroom was in full display during this entire season.  Congratulations to the students, faculty, volunteers and families who all played a role in supporting the Robotomies on their way to earning this coveted banner.  It will be proudly hung in our front commons.  Great Job Team 1277!!
