PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Hopefully, everyone had a restful break and are looking forward to finishing strong. We do notice a return to a week with a delay and a ½ day, does increase the temperature a bit as we see the end of Semester I looming in only 7 days. There is lots of pressure to finish well for some and for others it may be that last push to get a certain grade. Please check in with your students and support them in wrapping up their classes.
Wednesday evening, GD made history, again! That night, we hosted our first wrestling match as part of the cooperative team with North Middlesex. Our very own Sean Kiley(Assistant Principal) was the referee for the match which made it extra special!! This is one of many other examples of how the GD community has created new opportunities for students to feel like they Belong. This is what makes GD special and for the teachers, staff, students and parents to support these, we thank you!
We are GD!!

FROM THE DRAMA GUILD:
We are gearing up for our spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors, (Broadway Version). Presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International. All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. mtishows.com.
There will be an information session for auditions at 3 pm on January 14 in the Black Box Theater. We realize that not everyone can attend and we want people to know to not worry. We will do everything we can to share material and notes so that you know what to do to prepare for your auditions. Also, students are not required to attend the information session in order to audition. Finally, we will post all audition materials on our google classroom page following the audition workshop AND Ms. McKenzie will be able to help students learn materials during One Act rehearsals if needed. If high school students have any questions about this, be sure to contact the director, Ms. McKenzie from your home email at kmckenzie360@gmail.com.
Also: Students should look for an announcement soon where they can sign up for audition times on the audition date which is January 21. This will allow students to feel comfortable in their audition group, and enable them to determine their exact audition time so they can plan their transportation to and from the school. Please note that students will need to arrange rides on their own as auditions will begin as early as 3pm.
Note that students need to have their student activities fee paid in order to participate in Drama Guild productions. If you have not yet paid, you should bring your payment to auditions. Finally, please keep Friday, Jan. 23 free as we may hold call backs for certain roles in the show. (if scheduled, call backs on 1/23 will start at 3pm)
