PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
What a packed start to the year! The beginning of the year offers up the opportunity to check off many boxes on our to do list. From distributing resources to students, class meetings, to picture taking, to evacuation procedures and simply learning where certain buses are located are many things typically done during the first few weeks of school. My empathy for parents has been at an all -time high as my wife and I also have a junior and senior in high school. We are experiencing many of the joys and challenges that come along with the final stage of their education. We can now settle into a more predictable routine and support students as they navigate their first term. We are looking forward to seeing some new faces, as well as familiar ones during our Open House next Thursday (9/11) at 6pm.

On Thursday, September 11, we will be holding our Activities Fair. It will be an opportunity for all students to be exposed to the many clubs, organizations and sports we have at GD. Please encourage your student to sign up or join one of these organizations. Success follows those who participate and engage in school outside of the classroom. Don’t Let Your Day End at 2!!
ATTENTION JUNIORS: PSAT REGISTRATION
The PSAT will be given to Juniors on Wednesday, October 22 during the school day. Arrival time for the exam is 7:00 am and should be finished by lunch. Students must be juniors and register below to reserve their exam. Students must use their school issued Chromebook for this exam.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
On Friday, September 12th, the Florence Roche PTA is hosting their ‘Welcome Back’ family event behind Middle School North.
There will be interactive games and tables for arts and crafts. They are in need of volunteers from 530p - 730p behind Middle School North on the 12th. Great opportunity to get a few volunteer hours locally.

DONATIONS NEEDED FOR CONCESSION STAND
The Junior Class of 2027 has a very big year ahead of us. We are in charge of selling concessions at our home football games, the homecoming dance, prom and our yearly fundraisers that we put on. Knowing this we need all the support and help we can get. We are kindly asking for your donations to help us start out this year strong so we can kick off running the concession stand at our home football games. NEWS FROM NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY
In preparation for the October SAT, the National Honor Society will be holding practice sessions leading up to the test date. At these sessions, students can come with any questions they have on specific concepts and take part in group practice problems. More information on times and dates will be shared soon. What is the NHS? The NHS encourages achievement, integrity, leadership, and service among high school students. The NHS chapter at GDRHS is now conducting our fall membership application process. The invitation to apply has been emailed to eligible students. On Tuesday, September 9 during WIN Block, members of the National Honor Society will hold an info session in the Black Box Theater for those eligible Juniors & Seniors who are interested in applying this year. Current members will provide information on the HS NHS Chapter and answer any questions that applicants may have. (Note: attendance at the info session is not a requirement of applicants) This year's application process will be in hard copy and the deadline for all application packets is Thursday, September 25 at 3:00pm in the High School Office. An email copy of the application to the advisor will also be required as verification from each applicant. Groton Dunstable High School Drama Guild is excited to announce Much Ado About Nothing as its fall show. Much Ado is the original Rom-Com! We are looking for actors, techies, designers, artists and musicians. Sign ups will be posted outside room 203. Ms. Lamson and crew are excited to work with you! Auditions are Monday, September 8 from 2-5 pm. Call backs are September 9 from 3-6 pm.
Performances are November 7 and 8 in the high school Black Box Theater.
