Animals in Winter

February 10, 2023

Dear Florence Roche Families,

We hit the 100th Day milestone this week!  There were many activities focused on 100 in our classrooms.  Our primary students really enjoy this celebration of 100.  The 2nd grade experienced a Boo Bubbles program during which they explored different states of matter.  Kindergarten students learned about animals in winter through a program put on by the Nashua River Watershed Association.  Both of these enrichment activities were generously funded through grants provided by the Commissioners of Trusts.

We’ve been having a lot of fun with our February Spirit Month.  Today’s Football Friday was well represented by a variety of teams and sports.  Next week we will wear red on Wednesday for Valentine’s Day.  On Friday, we have FloRo Friday as our spirit activity.  Students and staff are encouraged to wear FloRo gear, giraffe gear or any yellow, orange or brown colors to show their school spirit.  This will be a fun way to send everyone off to the February break.  Remember that dismissal for students on a Friday leading into a vacation begins at 12:05pm.

The February edition of the Floro News Report was produced by students in Mrs. Plunkett’s and Mr. Fahy’s classes.  Here is the link for you to view it. February FloRo News Report  You will have to advance each segment manually as you progress through the news.  Enjoy!

Here is a fun activity to put on your calendar for the upcoming school vacation week.  The GD Athletic Boosters Club would appreciate your participation in this family friendly event.  Dust off those skates and hit the ice!

Have a nice weekend.

Brian
