Dear Florence Roche Families,
Our 4 day week turned into a 3 day week with today’s snow day. I was hoping to have the day of school, but travel conditions worsened and the safest decision for all was to stay home. The elementary staff across the district was scheduled to participate in anti-bias training presented by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) during our afternoon professional development. I’m disappointed that we were not able to experience the training today, but look forward to the possibility of it being rescheduled for the future.
Our student representatives made us all proud during the Topping Off ceremony on Tuesday morning. They were the highlight of the program. The Groton Channel filmed the event and they are airing the recording of it on their channel. Here is the link to view it if you weren't able to see it yet. Topping Off Ceremony This is an interesting tradition in the construction process and we couldn’t have asked for a better day of weather in January.
The 4th grade is scheduled for a chorus concert this week on Thursday evening. The community is invited to hear these talented singers perform in the middle school PAC beginning at 7:00pm. Mr. Wiesner has been rehearsing with the students and I know they are excited to be performing for in person audiences again.
MCAS Reminder for your Calendars
We are beginning to plan for our MCAS testing for grades 3 and 4 students that will be administered in April and May. There is a lot of coordination that takes place prior to administration to ensure that everything goes smoothly. Our first step is to set the testing schedule and share it out with stakeholders. If you have a 3rd or 4th grader being assessed this year, please make note of the schedule when planning for appointments, etc. Thank you for your support.
