4th Grade Kindness Quilt

September 16, 2022

Dear Florence Roche Families,

It was nice to see so many of our grades 2-4 parents and guardians attending the curriculum night last night.  This is the first time we have hosted this event back in our classrooms since before COVID.  There was great energy throughout the classrooms as our teachers shared their enthusiasm for working with your children.  First grade families will be visiting their classrooms on Monday night next week.  I look forward to seeing you!

After 12 days of school, I’m impressed with how our students have assimilated back into their school environment.  Educators have focused on making connections with students and building community in classrooms and work spaces.  I always feel welcome when I enter these spaces.  I had fun learning a new game this week in a 2nd grade classroom.  The game was one that a student introduced to the class.  They all enjoyed playing it and I did my best to model resilience as I was the 1st one to be “out”.

The PTA is hosting our annual Welcome Back to School Night on Friday, September 23rd.  This year’s event will take place from 5:00-7:00 on the field behind the middle school north building.  This is a favorite event for many of our staff members.  We hope to see you there!
