Dear Florence Roche Families,

The end of May is quickly approaching with the holiday weekend next week.  Our upcoming school calendar is full of exciting end of the year activities.  If you were not able to attend our Family Literacy Night this past week, you are in luck because the rain forced us to reschedule the event to Thursday, May 26th.  The event will be held outside the Twomey Center from 6:30pm-7:30pm.  We hope families are able to make it this week!

Please be aware that a section of Route 119 leading up to our school access is scheduled for resurfacing on 5/24 and 5/25.  Groton PD anticipates traffic delays especially during school arrival and dismissal times.  This may impact the timing of your student’s ride to and from school.

The ground breaking ceremony for our new Florence Roche School is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st at 4:00pm.  The ceremony will take place behind the middle school south building at the site of the new track project.  All community members are welcome to attend.

We completed the math sessions for MCAS testing for our grades 3 and 4 students this week.  Students worked hard throughout the testing.  We have a few makeups to administer next week.  Overall, everyone did a great job with this process.

Our specialists are once again hosting a “Virtual Talent Show” as an end of year activity.  All students are encouraged to showcase their talents that we may not get to experience during a typical school day.  The up to 2 minute presentations will be organized by grade level and shared by classrooms during the last days of school.

Here is the link for you to enter the show!  Virtual Talent Show

Stay cool and have a nice weekend,

Brian
