Dear Florence Roche Families,
Thank you to our PTA for providing a pizza lunch for our staff today. We enjoyed having lunch together. It’s not often that we take this time to socialize as a group. Your generosity in providing today’s lunch brought us all together. This was welcomed after the end of a long week. Thank you!
This afternoon, we continued our Responsive Classroom professional development during the district ½ day. Staff members worked with trainers in grade level groups learning about how we can strengthen our practice of students feeling accepted, that everyone belongs and that we have a strong community in our classrooms and our school. We reviewed the structure and purpose of our morning meetings and how social interactions enhance student learning.
Throughout the pandemic, we have made many adjustments to our teaching and how we structure our school day in order to provide a healthy and safe environment for students and staff. The role of a school nurse has also changed dramatically over the past year and a half. I want to acknowledge our nurses, Natalie Petrucci and Jenny Huynh, for their often ‘behind the scenes’ work during this time. Nurse Natalie and Nurse Jenny have done an impressive job handling all that goes along with COVID management, contact tracing and communication. We are lucky to have them!
Our 4th grade students have done a nice job leading our food drive for Loaves and Fishes. Thank you for your support as we have collected many needed food items. The drive will conclude at the end of next week.
PTA Basket Raffle Update
We are excited to announce our annual basket raffle will be held from Saturday, December 4th through Friday, December 17th.We have over 30 baskets to take chances on this year with returning favorite themes like Legos, Local Gift Cards, Shopping Spree, Crayola Fun, Movie Night, a book basket ,a Nintendo Switch Basket and so many more!
The raffle will be held online just like last year and tickets will cost $2 each. Winners will be drawn via a live Zoom meeting on Sunday, December 19th and basket pickup will be on Monday, December 20that Florence Roche. Good luck!
