Book Fair Fairies

11/5/21

Dear Florence Roche Families,

We had an exciting end to our week as Book Fair Fairies Taylor and O’Donoghue visited students and showered them with the Power of Reading!  Florence Roche students read a collective 5,250 minutes in school during the previous 2 weeks.  As a reward, the Fairies donned their tutus and wings and spread the love of reading throughout the building.  Students also earned an extra recess in the coming weeks hosted by their principals.

On our school calendar, November is a month that always seems to pass very quickly.  We set the clocks back this weekend and just like that it feels like the winter season is approaching.  We will continue to take advantage of outdoor recess as often as the weather allows.  Students will need a sweatshirt or jacket as the temperatures continue to drop.  It’s recommended to label your student’s outerwear, so that any item that gets left on the field or playground can easily be returned to its owner.

This month we do not have any planned early release days on the calendar for Fridays.  On full day Fridays the student dismissal begins at 3:10pm.  Thursday, November 11th is the Veteran’s Day holiday with no school scheduled.  Thank you to all of our Veterans for their service.  On Wednesday, November 24th, we will have an early dismissal with no lunch served.  School will be closed on Thursday, 11/25 and Friday, 11/26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Enjoy the sunshine this weekend.  I have a load of leaves to clean up waiting for me in the yard as one of my chores for the fall season.  It’s great exercise!
