The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District continues to strengthen school safety procedures by expanding implementation of a visitor management and screening system across its schools, including Swallow Union Elementary School, Florence Roche Elementary School, Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School, and Groton-Dunstable Regional High School.
The Raptor Visitor Management system helps accurately identify visitors, manage building access, and support a safe learning environment for students and staff. During school hours, all visitors entering our schools must present a valid government-issued ID, which will be scanned at the Raptor Visitor Management kiosk before access is granted.

The Raptor Visitor Management system assists schools by:
Verifying visitor identification;
Managing visitor check-in and badge printing;
Screening against registered offender databases across U.S. states and territories; and
Supporting District safety alerts related to custody restrictions, restraining orders, or banned visitors.
If a concern or alert is identified, designated school personnel are immediately notified so that established safety procedures can be followed appropriately and confidentially.
As we streamline the check-in process, parents, guardians, and frequent visitors may also use the Raptor Safe App. The Raptor Safe App is not required, but is suggested. The Apple iOS and Google Play apps allow visitors to pre-register (using time-bound QR codes on the app) and securely manage information in advance, helping reduce wait times during school visits.
These enhanced visitor procedures reflect our continued commitment to maintaining secure school environments while ensuring schools remain welcoming and accessible to families and community members.
