October 3, 2025

Dear Florence Roche Families,

Happy October!  We look forward to welcoming families into our classrooms next week.  Students have been working hard and will be proud to share their work with you.  Grades K, 1 and 3 have their open house on Tuesday, 10/7 and grades 2 and 4 have theirs on 10/9.  The hours on both evenings are from 6:30-7:30.  Parents and guardians are invited along with their students to visit their classrooms and meet their teachers.  Please remember that this is not a teacher conference evening as those are scheduled for November.  It’s an opportunity for you to meet the adults spending time with your student each day and for you to see their classroom and other learning spaces.  Please make sure to also stay with your student during the evening as this is not a time for students to be playing in the building.  The PTA is hosting a costume sale in the cafe from 6:00-6:30 and from 7:30-8:00 on both evenings.  Classrooms, teachers and the other learning spaces will only be available between 6:30 and 7:30.  Parking is available in the main campus parking lot.  Accessible parking for those needing it is located near the front entrance of our building at the top of our driveway.

Lost and Found

Don’t forget to stop by the lost and found table in the cafeteria during your open house visit.  There are a variety of sweatshirts and water bottles that have been left behind since the start of the year.  Please claim any missing items.  All items remaining at the end of the month will be donated through the collection bin in the main parking lot.

PTA Update

Next Tuesday, 10/7 is the deadline to order your FloRo spirit wear.  Check out the latest PTA Newsletter to find out what else they have planned.

As a reminder...

CORI forms need to be up to date in order for parents and guardians to enter our building as well as to attend any off site field trips. Your CORI report is good for 3 years. If you have a question about the expiration of your CORI, please contact our office. We are also noticing that the turn around time for our CORI requests is taking a bit longer than it did in the past. This means that if you are planning to attend the book fair during the week of 10/27, it is recommended that you get a CORI completed soon. For our new parents and parents who know they need an updated CORI, you will need to bring your license to the office and fill out the form with either Christine or Melanie. Thank you!

The Anxious Generation Book Discussion Group

The Groton Public Library is hosting a book group opportunity in collaboration with GDRSD parents.

See the flyer and follow this link for more information.
