Dear Florence Roche Families,

We finished our last 2 Field Days this week.  Fourth graders and second graders enjoyed playing with their classmates on 2 beautiful mornings.  Thank you again to the many volunteers who make this all possible.  We look forward to seeing you again next time!

Kindergarten students did a great job with their family concert this week.  There was a lot of excited energy on display as they performed.  Thank you to Mr. Wiesner for preparing and leading our kindergarten students through their performance.

Student artwork was on display throughout the week.  Each student had one piece of art included as part of the schoolwide art show.  Ms. Stoddard and Ms. Johnston hosted many families on Tuesday night as they viewed the beautiful artwork.

Our student representatives did an amazing job during this week’s Ribbon Cutting ceremony.  They spoke from the heart and let everyone know what it is they are enjoying most about our new school.  The cafeteria, library and gym were all noted as favorite spaces.  We also learned that meeting new friends and the caring staff have been appreciated as well.

The front field officially opened for recess play this week.  Students have been anxiously awaiting this day.  It was great to see them finally getting to run and play on the field.

Over the past few weeks, students have been working on grade level projects that are all connected by a giraffe theme.  We planned this schoolwide learning activity as a way to bring everyone together with a common theme.  The giraffe, our mascot, was a perfect fit.  This was a great community building activity and a nice way to end our first year all together in the new building.  On Friday, classrooms visited the different grade level project areas to view student work.  Students learned a variety of interesting information about giraffes including their size, habitats, and how they travel.  There were many interesting facts presented by the different grade levels.  Ask your student what they learned about giraffes today!

Spirit Week is Here!

Check out the fun themes planned by our 4th Grade Student Council for the June 9th-16th Spirit Week.
