Dear Florence Roche Families,
Happy end of the school year! This will be my final update until next September. I wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable summer break.
On Wednesday afternoon we celebrated our 4th graders with a cookout, mini concert for their families, and an all school recognition parade around the building. This group has a special place in my heart because we started our time at Florence Roche together. I have enjoyed getting to know them over these past 5 years and wish them the best as they take the next steps along their educational journey.
Kindergarten students performed for families in their grade level concert this week. This was the first time our kindergarten concert was held at the PAC. We had a great audience and our students put on quite a show. Thank you Mr. Wiesner for your commitment to making sure all students have a successful concert experience.
Thank you to our PTA for providing enrichment experiences for students this week. Kindergarten enjoyed a performance of Cinderella by the Tanglewood Marionettes. Grade 3 learned about force and magnetism through a program put on by the Acton Discovery Museum. 
This year will be Officer Pete Breslin’s last year serving as our school resource officer. Officer Pete has been on campus with us for the past 5 years. He will be transitioning back to his daytime duties with the Groton Police Department. Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, Officer Rob Wayne will take over the responsibilities of our school resource officer for Groton. Officer Pete and Officer Rob visited classrooms this week to share the news about this transition. Welcome Officer Rob!

During this year, the Florence Roche School Council focused on the goal of improving family engagement in our school community. We conducted a parent/guardian survey this spring to collect data on family engagement to support our action planning for the 2023-2024 school year.
