GFD Visit

Dear Families,

Overview of the Week: This Thursday, the Groton Fire Department visited Boutwell! All children had the opportunity to meet the firefighters, see a fire truck, walk through an ambulance, and learn how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll.” Your teachers posted pictures on Seesaw of the event!

Open House: We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a fall Open House! Previously, open house was held in the spring for prospective families. This year, we will be holding it in the fall for all families! The date of our Open House is on Tuesday, October 25th, from 5-6 pm. On Monday, we will be sending out a Google Form with a RSVP sheet and information on specific times. This will be your opportunity to go in the classroom! Please note, this is an adult only event.

Photo Preferences: Thank you to all who have filled out the photo preference sheet. If you still need a copy, please let Anne know.

Parking Reminders:

  • Arrival and dismissal have gone much smoother this past week! Please remember to wait across the street at Legion Hall until after 8:45 am.

  • We understand that there are times when you need to communicate with your child’s teacher. Given that we have many children to dismiss, please use Seesaw, email, written note, or call the front desk and leave a message for Anne to pass on.

Upcoming Events: Please see the following flier for the Early Literacy Night, hosted by  Amanda Densmore, the PreK-8 ELA Supervisor, as well as literacy specialists from both Swallow Union and Florence Roche. Early Literacy Night

Health Procedures: As a reminder, please call our nurse, Lorinda, with any questions or concerns. Please be extra vigilant for symptoms of illness, especially given the current viral gastrointestinal illness. Dr. Chesson will be sending any updates, if needed.

Be well!

Maggie
