At Boutwell Early Childhood Center, Seesaw is our interactive digital learning portfolio system and one of our family communication tools. Multimodal tools open a window into our students’ minds through drawing, video, voice recording, and much more as students grow. Through Seesaw, technology can make learning more engaging, accessible, and visible.
Within Seesaw, our teachers can develop standards-aligned lessons that support our core curricula, allowing students to learn digital tools to respond spontaneously and creatively and how to use technology responsibly. Research shows that students thrive when they can actively explore new concepts and make their thinking and learning visible; without question, Seesaw is helping the students at Boutwell Early Childhood Center explore and own their learning.
Seesaw supports the development of a powerful learning loop that brings teachers, students, and families together. A significant component of Seesaw is possible home-to-school connections with our Boutwell community. Our families can connect with their students on a private Seesaw platform, which supports built-in translation in 100+ languages. (Note: Family can only see their child’s work.)
