BEFORE THE BUS ARRIVES:
1. Go to your stop about 5 minutes ahead of time.
2. Stand off the road in a safe place.
3. If you wait with other children, don't get into fast running games or ball throwing that could lead to accidents in the street. (No bikes, please)
4. When the bus comes, line up and be courteous (no punching and shoving) as you go aboard.
5. Go quickly to a seat and make room for others to sit. The driver will not go until all are seated.
ON THE BUS:
1. Be courteous - keep your voices low.
2. Keep your hands and feet to yourself so you won't disturb others and so you'll be safe (no hands out the window).
3. Be thoughtful - don't tease. Please talk with your friends or read a book.
4. Do not take toys or pencils out of your bag - you may lose them or get into an unnecessary argument.
5. Please stay in the seat you first choose - don't change seats.
6. Please remember you are not allowed to eat or drink on the bus.
7. Stay seated until the bus comes to a full stop at school - or at your home stop.
CROSSING THE STREET:
If you have to cross the street:
1. WAIT for the sign to go out and the lights to flash - and the driver to waive that it's OK to go.
2. LOOK both ways before crossing.
3. CROSS far enough in front on the bus so you can see the driver's face. (This is important because then the driver can see you.) |
