Communicable Diseases

Tis the season for colds and other unwanted visitors to invade our school. The best defense is adequate rest and healthy foods. However, if you do find your child with a fever over 100 degrees, or with acute GI symptoms (like vomiting), he or she must stay home. Your child must remain out of school until fever free for 24 hours or his or her GI problem has been over for at least 6 hours to avoid exposure to others . If your child has a contagious infection which is treatable with antibiotics, like strep throat or conjunctivitis (“pink eye”), he or she must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before resuming school. Please let me know about these or any condition which can be transmitted so that I can be watching for it in others. I depend on your conscientiousness, and the information is always confidential. Feel free to call any time with questions or concerns.
