Swallow Union Library

The Swallow Union library houses a collection of approximately 8,000 volumes comprised of fiction, non-fiction, picture books, books-on-tape, early readers, and reference books.  In addition, the library subscribes to a variety of magazines for all grade levels and interests. There is also a video and professional book collection that is available to staff members.  The library is equipped with five computers for use by students doing research or utilizing our computerized catalog. The students in Kindergarten have a scheduled 35-minute library period once a week to listen to a story and choose a book. Students in Grades 1 through 4 are encouraged to visit the library often to check out books for reading pleasure or for class assignments. The library is open for large blocks of time when any students or staff members may come in to utilize library resources.
