Dear Parents,

Greetings!  The first quarter’s progress report went home with your child on Monday, October 15th.  These reports have hopefully given you an indication of your child’s performance to date, and offered helpful suggestions for improvement where it is needed.  Please make note that first quarter report cards will be mailed home on Friday, November 16th.  Parent/Student conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 28th and Thursday, November 29th.  A letter will be sent home shortly giving you all of the details.

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend our Student Shadow Day on October 19th.  The large turnout of parents truly reaffirms our belief that parents of this age group still want to stay involved in their child’s education.  Of course, how could we forget the culminating activity of the day – The viewing of the movie Mad Hot Ballroom with the guest appearances of two of the actors from the movie!

Thank you to all of the parent chaperones who helped us during our first Kids’ Night Out on October 12th.  We had an unbelievable turnout of over 350 students!   The students had a great time and are looking forward to our second one in April.

National Education Week takes place during the week of November 12th.  Parents are cordially invited to come in any day of this week to have lunch with their child(ren).  More information will be sent home in your child’s Friday Folder.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Best wishes for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sincerely,

Steven M. Silverman

Principal
