Middle School North PIT

Field Hockey*- Open to 7th and 8th grade

Boys Cross Country- Open to 6th, 7th, 8th grade

Girls Cross Country- Open to 6th, 7th, 8th grade

*Field Hockey 7th and 8th Grade    -   In the event of overwhelming participation in field hockey this fall, we will offer a 7th grade intramural team.  7th graders will be eligible to participate in the intramural program only that will consist of three weekly sessions and several scrimmages with the 8th grade team. A $100 fee will be required to participate. 8th graders will be allowed to participate in the team.    

Start Date for All Fall Sports: Tuesday Sep 8th, 2009

In order for a student athlete to participate on the first day of practice/tryouts, they must have:

1.) Signed Release Form (Found on the athletics section of www.gdrsd.org)

2.) Proof of a valid physical on file in the nurse’s office or in hand. A physical is good for 13 months from the date of the exam. (Check with the middle school nurse).

3.) Appropriate clothing/equipment (Field Hockey-goggles, mouth piece, shin guard, appropriate clothing; XC- Running sneakers and appropriate clothing)

4.) User Fee Check $200

User Fees

A user fee for participation on a Middle School team is $200.  Please make check payable to GDMS/User Fees.

Meeting Locations and Dates

Coed Cross Country- MSN 9/8 GYM 2:35-4:15

Field Hockey – 9/8, 9/9, 9/10 MSS GYM 2:35-4:15

Other Information - The season will run from September 8th to October 31st. Coaches will distribute practice and game schedules on the first day. The can also be found on the “Schedules” icon of that athletics section of www.gdrsd.org.

Middle School Physicals- Middle school sports physicals will be held on Friday September 4th during school hours. See GDMS newsletter for more information.
