Dear Parents,

Enclosed you will find the December calendar of events. Please be sure to mark these dates for future references.

Second quarter midterm progress reports will go home with your child on Friday, December 21st.

December is upon us, and the upcoming holiday season will soon be celebrated.   This traditional holiday celebration stirs happy thoughts, feelings, and fond memories for many.  It is this sense of tradition that will serve as my principal’s message for this December newsletter.

Traditions help give us a sense of family and community and promote a feeling of belonging.  Traditions help create pride and a history.  The holiday season is a time to get together and appreciate the company of one another.  It also gives us the chance to be thankful for all that is positive in our lives: family, friends, health, and happiness.

This time of year gives me an opportunity to mention some of the other activities/events that take place at our school such as the School Council, monthly dances, Parent Shadow Day, National Education Week, Yearbook, Drama Club, and Homework Club.   Many of these things would not take place without the support and effort of my staff and faculty, members of the School Council, and MSPTO.

These yearly experiences help establish the middle school as a center and focal point for families to share and celebrate success and learning.

I look forward to the many chances to personally wish you greetings at our upcoming events.  Remember, in this upcoming season of gift giving, you are the gift!

I would like to conclude this newsletter with an article I received from a staff member a few years ago.  It seems appropriate for this time of year.  I think you will find The Present very moving.

Best wishes for the upcoming Holiday Season!

Sincerely,

Steven M. Silverman
