The 7th Graders in Mrs. Goddard's art class have been creating three dimensional masks. The purpose of this lesson is to introduce students to the masks of a variety of cultures. We discussed and looked at examples of contemporary and ancient masks, why they are made, and there symbolic meaning to the people of different cultures. With purpose and meaning in mind the students created beautiful masks of their own.
