Senior Project
Before graduation, each senior is required to complete a Senior Project. The focus of Senior Project is to engage the student in a personalized learning experience exploring a subject or project not available to them in the established curriculum. It allows a student the opportunity to demonstrate interdisciplinary skills and knowledge while investigating a specialized area of interest with the assistance of an out-of-school mentor and an in-school sponsor. The project includes both research and writing components. The major assessment of the piece is based on a demonstration or presentation by the student explaining how the project met its goals.
Senior Internship Program
The internships, which take place during the final quarter of the senior year, allow eligible students the opportunity to pursue alternative educational experiences or to investigate possible careers. Students who choose to involve themselves in the internship program must follow the very specific expectations of the project and are required to make a formal presentation at the end of the program.
