NEBHE – New England Board of Higher Education See the NEBHE web site for more information about these and other programs! New England Regional Student Program The New England Board of Higher Education's Regional Student Program (RSP) provides New England residents with a tuition break when they study certain majors - not available at public colleges in their home state - at public colleges and universities in other New England states. (For example, a Massachusetts resident studying Spatial Information Engineering at the University of Maine would receive a tuition reduction of almost $6000!) All 78 public colleges and universities in New England participate in the RSP. Together, these two-year and four-year higher education institutions offer more than 700 academic programs at reduced tuition to out-of-state New England residents. Programs are available through the RSP at all academic levels: associate, bachelor's, master's, certificate of advanced graduate study, master's, doctoral and first-professional. The majors are approved each year by the participating institutions and listed in the annual RSP catalog. Internship Programs and Opportunities Environmental Internship Program From 1995 to 2002, the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) Environmental Internship Program provided qualified college students with 10-week paid job assignments during the summer break. In 2002 NEBHE enlisted the resources and expertise of the Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) to administer the program. Students interested in 2003 environmental internship opportunities may contact ECO directly at http://www.eco.org/nebhe. New England/Nova Scotia Student Exchange Program The New England/Nova Scotia Student Exchange Program (NENSSEP) enables full-time students at participating New England and Nova Scotia colleges and universities to spend one or more semesters at one of 10 Nova Scotia or 18 New England colleges and universities. This exchange program is based on the New England/Quebec Student Exchange Program. New England/Quebec Student Exchange Program The New England/Quebec Student Exchange Program (NEQSEP) enables full-time students at participating New England and Quebec Colleges and universities to spend one or more semesters during their junior or senior years at one of 20 Quebec or 28 New England institutions. There are 30 Quebec and New England students participating in the exchange for the academic year 2004-2005. |
