PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS

April 2009

The Groton Dunstable Regional School District will have Preschool Screenings on Tuesday, April 14th and Wednesday, April 15th at the Boutwell Early Childhood Center, 78 Hollis St., Groton.

 

This screening is only for parents who have concerns about their child’s development. Children between three year and five years of age will be screened.

 

Parents with specific concerns about their child should call Boutwell at 978-448-2297 to schedule an appointment.

 

The appointment hours are between 9:00am-2: 30pm.

  • Speech & Language or how the child makes his or her needs and wants known to the world will be done on both days.
  • Developmental Screenings or how the child processes information verbally, visually and using memory skills will be on Wednesday, April the 15th only.
  • Occupational Therapy and overall motor skill screenings or how children use their hands and move their hands and move their bodies will be on Wednesday, April 15th only.

Preschool and Pre-K Registration

We are currently accepting rolling enrollment registrations for the 2009-2010 school year. We have openings in our four afternoon session. Children attend Monday through Thursday from 12:30 to 3:00. Mornings are currently full but we can put families on a waiting list should anyone forfeit their morning slot.

Please download or obtain an application packet from the Boutwell office.  Complete the information and submit it to Brenda at Boutwell, 448-2297.  You can either deliver the application to Boutwell or you can mail it to:

We are conveniently located on
78 Hollis Street in Groton, MA
just up the road from Groton Center across from the American Legion Hall.

The Boutwell Early Childhood Center is part of the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District and offers:

  • Teachers licensed by the Department of Education (DOE)
  • Low teacher to child ratios
  • A minimum of two adults (a teacher and an aide) in each classroom
  • A full time Speech and Language Pathologist on site
  • A full time School Nurse on site
  • On site Occupational and Physical Therapists
  • Curriculum based on Early Childhood Standards from the DOE that is directly aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
  • A caring well trained staff dedicated to the needs of young children
